About Us

The Cultural Society of Aley & Districts was established in Edmonton in 2004 and registered as a non-profit organization in 2005. Corporate Access No 5011894424.

Recognizing the challenges our newcomers face such as adapting to a new environment, language, and way of life the Cultural Society of Aley & Districts was formed thanks to our enthusiastic volunteers who wanted to help and make a difference

Our Board Mandate

Its To look after the needs of our community by bringing its members together intellectually and socially by assisting them in integrating smoothly into Canadian Society while keeping alive our rich heritage and culture. Our unlimited goal is the betterment of our community and the safekeeping of our children. None of the work described above would be possible without our active volunteer members who contributed their time and effort in making that happen.

News, Programs & Activities for 2026:

• Website Update Our Board has been working on developing our new website. Special thanks to our VP, Zaher Shmait, who led the project alongside our Treasurer, Bob. We are excited to announce that the website will be ready in approximately four weeks.
• Financials & Registration Our financials and registration renewals are up-to-date. This will allow us to apply for a Casino License, which will be our next major project.2026
• Planned Activities:
• Sunday Walks Weather permitting, Noura will be coordinating weekly Sunday walks.
• Community Spirit Event community event in conjunction with Eid Al-Adha will take place on Sunday, May 29.3.
• Father’s Day Event June 28 We are planning a bus trip out of town to celebrate Father’s
• Seniors’ Social July 19A special social gathering for our seniors to connect, relax, and enjoy time together.
• Summer Picnic – August 30 Join us for a community picnic and BBQ with fun activities for all ages.
• New Year’s Gathering – December 27Our annual Year-End Gathering to celebrate the New Year together.
